Assignments
Assignment 1: Identify and evaluate
Find, document and review an interpretive element.
Ideally this should be in the real world, but with permission I will allow you to use an online example if you are not able to visit a site in person but you must clear it with me first. The topic can be a museum exhibit, interpretive panel or other media - ask questions in #assignments if you are unclear.
Include at least one clear image of the element.
Describe the element briefly, and evaluate how it fulfills (or not) each of Freeman's six principles from chapter 1 of Interpreting our Heritage.
Create a 1 page PDF suitable for on-screen presentation. Be prepared to present this (very briefly) in class. The ICOMOS Field Guide to Tactical Heritage Urbanism provides a model for this sort of evaluation in the "Precedents" section.
Due: 6PM, Sunday Jan 16. Upload the PDF to Brightspace.
