Assignments

Assignment 1: Identify and evaluate

Find, document and review an interpretive element.

This should be in the real world, not an online example. If you are not able to find an interpretive element in person but you must clear it with me first. The interpretive element can be a museum exhibit, interpretive panel or other media - ask questions in #assignments if you are unclear.

Include at least one clear image of the element.

Describe the element briefly, and evaluate how it fulfills (or not) each of Freeman's six principles from chapter 1 of Interpreting our Heritage.(On Brightspace)

Create a 1 page PDF suitable for on-screen presentation. Be prepared to present this (very briefly) in class. The ICOMOS Field Guide to Tactical Heritage Urbanism provides a model for this sort of evaluation in the "Precedents" section. (On Brightspace)

Due: 6PM, Wed, Sep 18. Upload the PDF to Brightspace.
